BY PROFESSOR JAMES M. MCCANNEY, M.S.

Comets

Throughout history, great comets and other celestial objects have repeatedly been associated with major events and changes on Earth. The text argues that modern science often underestimates the possible effects of large celestial bodies passing near our planet and presents comets as potentially powerful objects rather than harmless “dirty snowballs.”

Professor James M. McCanney’s Plasma Discharge Comet Model describes comets as electrically active plasma phenomena that can become very large and interact with the solar system. The text connects this idea with what McCanney calls “Action at a Distance,” referring to effects such as gravitational, electrical, and magnetic interactions that could influence Earth from considerable distances.

The material also points to ancient accounts of devastating Earth changes and mass extinctions, suggesting that historical descriptions may be connected with encounters involving great comets. The book presents these ideas as an alternative interpretation of comet behavior and their possible role in Earth’s history.
